🥇 In Kiveri Village (Walking Distance or 2 Min Drive)
1. Avalon Restaurant
📍 Kiveri Beachfront 📞 +30 2751 042499 💶 €15–20 per person
The most popular restaurant in the village — and for good reason. Avalon sits right on the beachfront with a gorgeous terraced courtyard featuring an artificial waterfall, streams, and even a kids’ play area. The menu is a crowd-pleaser: pasta, risotto, wood-fired pizzas, grilled meats, and seasonal Greek dishes. Perfect for families or couples wanting a relaxed dinner with the sound of water in the background.
What to order: Risotto, fresh pasta, their grilled chicken, or one of the daily specials.
Best for: Families, couples, first-night arrival dinner.
2. Tavern Tsioulos — Meat House & Souvlaki
📍 Kiveri 📞 +30 2751 042530 💶 €10–15 per person ⭐ Google: 4.7/5
This is Kiveri’s go-to spot for grilled meat. Tsioúlos (Τσιούλος) is a proper “κρεατοταβέρνα” — a meat taverna where the charcoal grill does the talking. The lamb chops, country sausage, and souvlaki are outstanding. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere is unpretentious.
What to order: Lamb chops, country sausage, Greek salad, pita.
Best for: Meat lovers, casual dinners, groups.
3. Tavern Kanaris — Fresh Fish & Seafood
📍 Kiveri Beach (south end) 📞 +30 2751 047047 💶 €15–25 per person ⭐ #4 on TripAdvisor in Kiveri
Right at the southern end of Kiveri beach, Kanaris is an institution. A fish taverna with a stunning view of the Argolic Gulf, it serves exclusively fresh seafood — whatever the fishermen brought in that morning. The beach here is deeper water and has free sunbeds if you grab a drink. Underneath the taverna, there’s even a WWII German pillbox, adding a layer of history to your meal.
What to order: Grilled fresh fish, seafood pasta, octopus, Greek salad.
Best for: Seafood lovers, sunset dinners, romantic meals.
4. To Pournari (Το Πουρνάρι) — Traditional Meat Taverna
📍 Near Ai Giannis church, Kiveri 📞 +30 2751 047261 💶 €10–15 per person ⭐ Google: 4.7/5
“Pournari” means “the holly tree” — and this taverna is named after the massive holly that shades its entire courtyard. Housed in an old whitewashed stone building with the grill set up in the original house, this place feels like stepping into a Greek village home. The focus is on grilled meats, souvlaki, doner kebab, and traditional dishes like moussaka — all made with recipes inspired by Yiayia Dimitra’s kitchen.
What to order: Doner kebab, souvlaki, moussaka, grilled meats.
Best for: Traditional Greek food, lunch near the church, authentic atmosphere.
🚗 5 Minutes from Kiveri — Myloi (Μύλοι)
5. Ο Βούλης — Traditional Meat Taverna
📍 Kalamaki, Myloi 📞 Since 1992
Just a 5-minute drive north toward Myloi, “Ο Βούλης” is a hidden gem. Operating since 1992, this taverna sits in a peaceful, green setting by the Kalamaki area. The focus here is on fresh meats grilled to perfection, in a quiet and cool environment surrounded by nature. The space is also available for social events.
What to order: Grilled meats, whatever the butcher recommends that day.
Best for: A quiet lunch away from the beach crowds, meat-focused meals.
🚗 10–15 Minutes from Kiveri — Argos Area
6. Σπηλιά (Spilia) — Legendary Taverna Since 1958
📍 4th km Argos-Tripoli old national road 📞 +30 2751 062300 💶 €20–25 per person ⭐ 4.2/5 (2,800+ reviews)
Spilia means “cave” — and this legendary taverna is built to look like one. Operating since 1958, it’s arguably the most famous taverna in the Peloponnese. The interior is designed to resemble a cave, with stone walls and warm lighting. The cooking is traditional grandmother-style: slow-cooked meats, stuffed vegetables, and the famous kotopoulo (chicken) with a secret lemon sauce. Their mpogana (lamb with potatoes in clay pot) is a must-try.
Note: Portions are generous, prices include appetizer, main, dessert, cover, water, and a drink. Come hungry.
What to order: Kotopoulo (chicken with lemon sauce), mpogana (lamb with potatoes), wild horta, cheese pie with wild greens.
Best for: A proper Greek taverna experience, group dinners, special occasions.
7. Κιτσομάνης — Family Tavern Since 1944
📍 Kefalari, Argos 📞 Since 1944 (over 80 years!)
One of the oldest continuously operating tavernas in Argolida. Κιτσομάνης has been serving traditional Greek and Mediterranean cuisine since 1944 in the Kefalari area of Argos. The emphasis is on high-quality meats, grilled with care and expertise. The family has also opened Kits.Hen Grill in central Argos (Dervenakion Square 15) for those who want the same quality in a fast-casual format with delivery.
What to order: Grilled meats, traditional casserole dishes.
Best for: History buffs who want to eat where locals have been eating for generations.
🚗 15 Minutes from Kiveri — Nea Kios
8. Ο Ρούλης — Fish Tavern & Ouzeri
📍 Coastal road Nafplio — Nea Kios (2nd km) 📞 +30 2751 052006 💶 Since 1981
Technically not in Kiveri, but well worth the 15-minute drive along the coastal road. Ο Ρούλης is a legendary fish taverna and ouzeri sitting right on the water with breathtaking views of the Argolic Gulf and Nafplio in the distance. Run by Christos Fasoulis since 2016 (continuing his father’s legacy from 1981), this place serves only what the sea provides — fresh, local fish. If the weather didn’t allow fishing, they simply won’t have fish that day. That’s the level of commitment.
The space is bright, blue-and-white, with fish-themed tablecloths and a warm, family atmosphere.
What to order: Fresh grilled fish, seafood mezedes, psarosoupa (fish soup), astakomakaronada (lobster pasta).
Best for: The best seafood experience within 15 minutes of Kiveri, sunset dining, ouzo and mezedes.
